Fresh Ground

Located in the rural idyll of Ratho, The Field is shared between three fine folk: Davey, Ramey and myself. Davey and Ramey are seasoned gardeners, which is good for me as I hope to soak up their gardening knowledge like a sponge.

At the bottom of The Field, is a lovely burn (stream for you non-Scots) which we hope to tidy up and behind us, pigs, chickens and a spot for some bee hives.

Below are my hand-drawn plans for what we hope to do with the whole area. I imagine that things will change depending on what is successful & what is not. The parts I have highlighted in bright red are the areas that will be exclusive mine.

  1. GIRL! I feel like more and more folk are fleeing the frenetic energies of the cities for inspiring adventures in the Green Wild (or at least the rural). So pumped to become a regular reader of your blog and to feed my list of inspirations! Here's something I think you might fancy: NPR's TED Radio Hour podcast called "Food Matters" http://www.npr.org/2012/05/09/152384708/food-matters
